The Gas Consumption view answers one question: does the plan fit in the cylinders you are carrying. A line across the top repeats the two rates the figures depend on, Working SAC and Deco SAC, in L/min; change them in the Breathing Rates card.
The per-level ledger
One card per planned level, in dive order, naming the level and the gas breathed on it. Six figures per card, all in bar except the last:
- Leaving at: what is left in the cylinder when you leave that level.
- Turn pressure: the pressure at which you must turn the dive, being the cost of reaching the next switch plus the reserve.
- To next switch: what reaching the next gas switch will cost from here.
- Reserve: a third of the starting pressure, held back.
- Start pressure: what you began the level with.
- Runtime: where in the dive this level sits. Minutes, not bar.
Gas ledger by level
Two words can appear on a card. Below turn: what is left has already fallen past the turn pressure for that level, so the plan has no reserve in hand. Supply exceeded: the cylinder cannot cover the level at all, and every pressure on the card is shown in the error tone. Missing figures mean a gas with no tank size or no working pressure behind it.
One card per gas
Each gas then gets a card of its own: the mix name and colour, tags for the cylinder and the role, a consumption bar, then the numbers.
- Starting Pressure, End Pressure, Used Pressure and Remaining, as a percentage.
- Where the cylinder’s size is known, the same four again in litres: Starting Litres, End Litres, Used Litres and the litres remaining.
Low gas means the plan finishes on this cylinder with little in hand. Insufficient gas means it does not finish at all, and the card is toned accordingly. Neither changes the schedule: the planner will draw an ascent your gas cannot pay for.
On a rebreather
The view describes open-circuit gas only: the loop’s own consumption, diluent and oxygen, is not estimated anywhere in DiveLogic. Each selected scenario adds its own block of cards, covering the ascent from its bail point onward at the bailout pair rather than the loop rates.
