Creating a plan

Step one of the planner: name a dive, set its date and location, choose open circuit or rebreather, and invite the divers who will run it with you.

A new plan starts with four facts: what the dive is called, when it happens, where, and whether you are diving open circuit or a closed-circuit rebreather (CCR). Everything else is set afterwards, in the Plan step.

The New Dive Plan dialogue

Starting a plan for a wreck dive off Larnaca
  1. Dive Name. The only required field; the primary button stays disabled until it has content. It is the name the plan carries in your list and in every invited diver’s list.

  2. Date and Time. Both optional. Time uses your locale’s twelve- or twenty-four-hour display.

  3. Location (optional). Used only as a label. It does not set altitude, so a dive in a mountain lake still needs its altitude entered under Environment.

  4. Breathing Mode. Open Circuit or Rebreather (CCR). Open circuit is the default.

  5. Press Next to reach the invite step. Reopening the dialogue on an existing plan retitles it Edit Dive Plan, the button reads Save, and the invite step is skipped.

Choosing Rebreather (CCR) adds the CCR section to the Plan step and changes which gas roles the planner accepts; a CCR plan will not advance past the Plan step without an onboard diluent. Changing the mode later is allowed, but expect to revisit the gas list. See Rebreather setup.

The invite step

The second dialogue is Invite Divers. It is optional: confirming with an empty team creates a solo plan, and divers can be added later.

The invite step, before anyone has been added
  1. Add team members. The field matches on email. Divers who already have a DiveLogic account appear with their name and avatar.

  2. Invite someone without an account. Type a full email address. When no account matches, the results list offers an invite this address row instead, and they receive an email with a link.

  3. Assign Roles. Once at least one diver is on the team, the primary button advances to Assign Roles. Each invitee gets Diver (the default), Surface support or Observer. See Team plans.

  4. Confirm. The plan is created and every invitee is sent an invitation. Invitations expire seven days after they are issued.

Next

The planner opens on the Plan step with the plan’s name in the header and nothing in it yet. Start at the depth profile: the depths you plan to dive, and how long you hold each one.
