# Where DiveLogic runs

DiveLogic runs on a desktop computer, on an iPhone or iPad, and in a web
browser. They plan the same dives and give the same schedule.

| Capability | Desktop | iOS | Browser |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dive planning, every algorithm | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Gas analysis, best mix, blending | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| CCR planning and bailout scenarios | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Post-dive review and adherence | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Tunang | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Account, saved plans, courses, invoicing | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Reading dives already in your log | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| **Downloading dives from a dive computer** | **Yes** | **Yes** | **No** |

Pulling dives off a dive computer uses Bluetooth, which a browser cannot reach.
There is no setting to turn on and no workaround: in a browser the dive-computer
panel does not offer to scan, and tells you to sync from the desktop or mobile
app instead. See [Pairing a dive computer](/log/pairing).

Your dives, plans, reviews and conversations are stored against your account
rather than the machine that downloaded them, so a dive synced once is readable
everywhere you sign in. See [Sync](/account/sync).

## Smaller differences

These change how a task feels, not whether you can do it.

| Difference | Desktop and iOS | Browser |
|---|---|---|
| Saving and opening files | The system's own file dialogs | Whatever the browser offers |
| Notifications | System notifications | Browser notifications, if you allow them |
| Installation | Installed on the machine | Nothing to install, nothing to update |
| Layout | Windowed on desktop, full screen on a phone | Follows the browser window |
